The Ever-So-Refined Mr. Green

Okay, so he's really not that refined yet, but at least we've narrowed it down to these two directions:
I think both of these directions have potential and also need some more work to really nail down their features and how they move. Which do you like better/hate less/would rather see in a children's book? Your input is critical! (And hopefully of a critical nature...) As always, thanks so much for your opinion!

I like the top set of character designs. The small head with the big bottom is appealing to me. I think he is more memorable than the second set. The balance of small and large features on the first set are interesting: the wide mouth, but small eyes. Big nose vs Small hat. Of the first set. I find the most personality in #5, #2 and #3. I like #3 more than #6 because his hands and feet contribute to the emotion on his face. I don't normally comment, but I hope that is helpful!

Top set. That little hat's a nice touch... and I've always had an aversion to ambibuously naked monsters in children's books...
